On *Sunday, 19th April 2026*, on the auspicious occasion of *Akshaya Tritiya*, *Silver Grove School* organised the sacred *Vidya Aarambh Sanskar* for the students of the *Play Group*, marking the commencement of their educational journey. *Vidyarambham*, also rendered as *Akshara Abhyasam*, is a revered Hindu initiation ceremony performed before a child begins formal education. Dedicated to *Goddess Saraswati*, the deity of learning, wisdom, and arts, this ritual symbolises the introduction of young minds into the world of knowledge, letters, and lifelong learning. While traditionally prevalent in the South Indian states of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, the school embraced this profound _sanskar_ to instil cultural values and spiritual significance in our tiny learners. The ceremony was solemnised with a traditional puja, wherein each child, guided by *Director Ma’am* and the *Play Group teachers*, participated with devotion and innocence. Before writing their first letter, the little ones sought the blessings of Goddess Saraswati. As per tradition, the ritual involves the father or instructor chanting and helping the child trace sacred mantras like Panchaksharam or Ashtaksharam on grains of rice or wheat spread over a banana leaf placed before the puja. At Silver Grove School, this sanskar was performed with utmost sanctity and care. The tiny tots, accompanied by their teachers, took their first step into the realm of Akshara with prayers, tilak, and blessings. The event beautifully blended tradition with tender beginnings, ensuring that our wonder kids embark upon their academic path with divine grace, curiosity, and confidence. “At Silver Grove School, we believe education begins not with a book, but with a blessing where every first letter is written with faith, and every young mind is welcomed into the world of wisdom.”
